This arrangement is based on the common blues rhythm guitar riff Clapton used on “I Can’t Hold Out” from his “461 Ocean Boulevard” album. The same groove was used by the late Susan J. Paul on her song “Jericho.”
The arrangement is formulaic. The guitar riff in this song is a variation of a “5-6” blues-rhythm pattern. This pattern moves in parallel with the chords E, A and B. The guitar and bass parts are locked-in, with no variations. The Hammond Organ plays chords and variable fills. There are rhythmic fills in the drums. The drum part is restrained, with no hi-hat, and no center-ride sections.
